  1. that mile run was fun! And this gym really has some very good runners. Just to give comparisons, and make people feel good about themselves and how they rank compared to the rest of the population, when one compares their time with the PFT of the US Army (which is a 2 mile run, but I’ve broken it down to the 1 mile equivalents), then for the 3 age groups one can find this:

    How Fast Should You Run a Mile for the US Army Physical Fitness Test (needs to be in top 50 percent for that age group to pass the test):
    Ages 17 to 26
    Guys 6:15 and under ranks in top 1 percent for that age group, 8:10 and under is in the top 50 percent
    Ladies 7:30 and under top 1 percent, 10 and under top 50 percent
    Ages 27 to 36
    Guys 6:30 and under top 1 percent, 8:45 and under top 50 percent
    Ladies 7:45 and under top 1 percent, 10:45 and under top 50 percent
    Ages 37 to 46
    Guys 6:45 and under top 1 percent, 9:30 and under top 50 percent
    Ladies 8:15 and under top 1 percent, 11:45 and under top 50 percent
